Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of economic growth and minimum wage on employment in East Nusa Tenggara Province for the period 2020-2024. This research uses a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression methods. Secondary data were obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of NTT Province, covering 22 districts/cities for five years. The results showed that economic growth had a positive effect on labor absorption. In contrast, the minimum wage has a negative effect on labor absorption. Simultaneously, the two variables affect labor absorption in NTT Province. This finding indicates that although the minimum wage partially has a negative impact, the presence of positive economic growth can offset this impact in creating employment.
